What's for Breakfast?

Have you tried these out yet?  I know I was a bit skeptical at first, but I thought I would give them a try.  Guess what?  I liked them.  A little rubbery, but good and very convenient.  1/4 cup (equal to 1 egg) only weighs in at 1 Weight Watchers Point Plus.  I discovered I am not getting enough protein in my diet so today instead of grabbing fruit and toast for breakfast I had this.

Veggie omelet made with Egg Beaters.  MMMMM!

I used 1/2 cup of Egg Beaters, mushrooms, onion, green pepper and salt and pepper to taste.
2 Points Plus! Nummieness!

Guess what?  I am loosing weight again!  Wahooo!  Finally!!!!  I was down 2.8 this week.  10lbs left until I reach my Weight Watcher's goal.  I think I am going to make it.

Going Number 1 and 2...

We have a camping trailer, and use it all the time.  It is like my favorite thing ever to be camping in my 90's machine we call a trailer.  When we went camping last week, I noticed something pretty amazing.  I fit in the tiny bathroom, I could even close the door.  This is huge, people!  Now I can poop in peace!  This bathroom is small, folks.  I mean small!  So small, you cant even get a photo of this room.

But here I sit with the door closed and I can even wipe too.  Yehaw!  I love being thinner!  I have my pants up in this photo, so no worries.

After the big discovery, I was pretty excited to pull this out:

My Wham Casset tape!  Then I started Jamming.  The Smart Girl really got a kick out of this.  She started asking all kinds of questions about the music (The way I was dancing and 80's fashion).  So I did what every good mother my age should do...  I showed her how to make an 80's hairdo.   She was laughing so hard and couldn't believe I would go into public looking like this:

Boy she should have seen my 80's hair when I actually had hair, a perm, and aquanet.  This is nothing!

Can you close the door when you poop?  Did you have an 80's hairdo?

Have a Happy Memorial Day!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway!

Microwave your "own" popcorn UPDATE!

This giveaway is officially over.  1 winner will be chosen using Random.org.  Good luck!
Do you love popcorn? Do you spend a ton of money of that fat free, low in Weight Watchers Points, microwave popcorn? Are you tired of only having 1 or 2 points left and having a 4 point bag of popcorn? Do you only eat half or do you accidently eat the entire bag? If you answered yes to any of these questions then this post is for YOU!

Microwave your own popcorn! Did you know that most popcorn corn is only 1 WW Point Plus per tablespoon? Did you know that you can pop your own popcorn in your own bag?  Here is how:

I have 2 points left so I am going to cook 2 tablespoons of popcorn.  I use Western Family brand yellow popcorn.  Overall Orville Rickenbacker is also 1 point, but Jolly Time is not, so be careful.

Pour desired amount in a brown paper lunch sack.  The maximum the bag will hold is 4 Tablespoons.

Lay the bag flat on the counter and fold the top down like this.

Grab some tape and tape the top of the bag closed.

Place the bag in your microwave and pop!  My microwave takes 2 min and 10 secs.  Listen to your popcorn.  When it stops popping for about 3 seconds in between pops, it is done.

Open up your bag and go to town with your seasoning.  My kids and husband put real butter on at this point, but this is what I do:

I use spray butter and popcorn seasoning.  My favorite is the white cheddar seasoning.  You can find popcorn seasonings next to the popcorn in any grocery store.

Once you are all popped, sprayed and seasoned, enjoy!

Do you want to win your OWN microwave popcorn kit?  Well here is your chance.  Enter to win a bag of popcorn, seasonings (no butter spray, it will spoil in the mail), paper bags and tape.  One lucky winner will be announced on Friday, June 3rd.

You can have multiple entries by doing the following:

1.  One entry for publicly following my blog.

2.  Another entry, for sharing this post/giveaway on your facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/

Complete the following form and don't forget to check back on Friday for the Winner!  Good Luck!

Surviving a Buffet...

Back in the day, I loved a good buffet.  But today I almost cringe every time I hear the word.  Why?

Well, because it is so hard to have control over myself.   So, so, so, so, so, SO hard!  I don't care if it is Chinese or American food...  It is just a weakness of mine.  So I try to avoid it all I can, but we have a big family and everyone likes to gather at the buffet restaurant.  I don't want to be a party pooper and punish everyone else for my weakness, so I go along with it.  The last trip to the buffet, my wonderful Mother and Father-in-law treated us to a place that was actually amazing.  They had a lot of healthy choices and I did very well.  First I loaded up a big plate of salad with all 0 Weight Watchers Points Plus veggies and a tiny bit of low-fat ranch.  Then I moved on to the fruit.   By this time my tummy was full so I was off to a tasting table.  Yes I call it a tasting table.  You know, like the free samples over at Costco.  I tried everything that looked good, but only a sample of it. Then I had a slice of turkey and a cookie.  I was very satisfied and kept within my daily allowance of points.

Ok the truth is I did end up eating 3 cookies (I only planned for one).  But I had the points for it and I enjoyed ever bite!

What are you drinking?

I have a rule.  I have had it for a couple of years now.  Shrinks rule:  Never drink calories.  I just don't do it, I CAN'T do it.  I would rather eat then drink.  So what is good to drink besides plane old water?  This is what I have been drinking and all for 0 Weight Watchers Points Plus.

You have got to try these!  They have all different flavors and all the low calorie drinks I have tried so far have been great.  The Smart Girl had one today and she loved it too.  This particular one has 20 calories and is 0 Weight Watchers Points Plus, but be very careful some of them have way more calories, so look for the low calorie ones so you don't drink the points.

Propel Zero is great too.  My favorite one is this black cherry flavor.  This flavored water has 0 calories so it is another 0 point plus way to drink.

A friend from my Weight Watchers meeting told us all about this stuff.  These Mio liquid drops can be found in the georgery stores in the juice/Kool-Aid isle.  This is also 0 Weight Watchers Points Plus.  You just drip some drops in your water and you have flavor.  I bought it and tried it, but personally didn't like it.  It tasted a lot like Crystal Lite and I am not a fan of that either.

This is my weakness!  Cherry Coke Zero!  I can just hear the can cracking open and the fizz fizzing.  Ahhh the burn, I love it!  Can't live without it.

This is the Ultimate Drink!  I would swim through a flood and walk barefoot in the snow just to get to the place that sells these drinks.  Do you recognise the cup?  This will have to be an entire post on its own.  A giveaway for the local people in my area has already been approved.  Stay tuned!

Question: Clothes

Question:  Shrink what do you do when you keep going down in sizes?  I can't afford to buy new clothes every month.

Answer:  This is what I did...  I would just wear my clothes until they were baggie.  Simple as that.  But when you lose over 130lbs you can only get so baggie before you look like a clown.  So I would head over to Ross to get me two pairs of pants, but make sure they were tight, you know a bit uncomfortable.  That way I could wear them a lot longer before I got the clown look.  What about shirts?  Same thing, buy them a bit small and when they get too big.  Layer!  I have a lot of use out of my shirts by using undershirts.  Like this shirt that I am wearing today:

It started off small and then I lost weight and it ended up so big that my boobies showed.  What to do?  Add an undershirt and you are good to go for 20 more lbs.

Another solution is to find a friend who is also losing weight.  Perhaps they will donate their big clothes to you.  I was lucky to have my dear friend Roberta donate her clothes to me.  I am looking for someone to donate my clothes to.  I currently have sizes 18, 16 and 14 to give away.  If you know anyone who could use them, let me know!

Healthy Choices...

This is the last piece of the cheese cake my Momma made.  She makes the best cheese cake in the world.  After dinner at her house, I was so lucky that she sent us home with 1/2 of a cheese cake.  After the Grown Gal and her boyfriend had a couple of slices, I was left with this.  What should I do?  Should I eat it. even though I already had a slice the night before?  What do you do when you pop open the fridge and see something you absolutely love staring you in the face?  Well I ended up giving it to the Little Lady.  She loved it!  It was alot more joyful seeing her eating it.  She was just so happy!

So after the cheese cake situation, it got me thinking about the healthy things I have in the house to grab.  I have a great variety of vegetables and fruit in the crisper of my fridge, but I always seem to forget about them and end up throwing them away due to them being old.  My solution is to make them more appealing and easy to grab and go.  This is what I did:

Instead of buying the fresh veggies and putting them away in the crisper, I got my veggie tray out and cut everything up.  This has really been a great help to me.  Now when I feel like chomping on something I have this big veggie tray staring at me, all ready to eat.

My husband bought me this cute little fruit basket.  I have my fruit displayed instead of in the fridge to be forgotten about.  Having healthy choices ready and visible has really helped me.

Chips and Salsa! Yes you can!

My "good finds" tortillas have really came in handy since I decided to bake them and make tortilla chips.  Oh my goodness for 1 tiny weight watcher point plus I can have 8 chips and some of my homemade 0 point plus salsa.  This is how:

Take some salt, Pam, and 1 point tortillas.  Did you know the Ole spinach and herb tortillas are only one point plus too (thanks for the tip from my weight watcher leader Cyndy)? I tried the spinach and herb tortillas as chips and they were even better.

Once you have all your ingredients out, spray both sides of the tortillas with Pam.
Stack your tortillas on top of each other.  I like to do several at a time and keep some extra on hand.  Once they are stacked, cut in triangles (first cut in half, then fourth etc..) and salt and pepper.  One tortilla makes 8 chips.
Place on a baking sheet and bake at 400 for 6-7 minutes or until slightly brown and crisp.  You have to really watch them after the 6 minutes because they can burn very fast.  Watch them like a baby in water!
Here they are all ready to get in my belly!
Ok, they look good and all, but what do they taste like?
Pull out your favorite 0 point plus salsa.  I am using my homemade salsa.  Gurrr baby!  Yeah!  Give them a good dip.
Shove in mouth and the verdict is.....
Yes!  Yes!  They are good!  I would still prefer the fattening ones, but if you are trying to lose weight like me, these are a great snack.
Like I said, I make a bunch ahead of time.  I keep them in a zip lock bag and write on the bag 8 chips = 1 point plus.  In this bag I have a mixture of regular and spinach herb.  Oh me oh my!

Wondering what my salsa recipe is?  Check out my recipe tab at the top of the blog and take a peek.
ENJOY!

Be sure to check back soon for my very first giveaway.  You won't want to miss it!

Question: How much weight did you lose before people notice?

Question:  Shrink, how much weight did you lose before people started noticing?
Answer:  60 lbs.  Yes 60 pounds my friends.

I have always had a rule throughout my years of yo yo dieting to never tell people I was dieting.  That way, when I would fail I wouldn't be embarrassed.  I would also avoid certain people watching me eat and questioning me about my eating.  So, when I started the HCG diet two years ago to this day, only my hubby, little people, Momma and Pappy, and my friend Peggy (who helped me get started) knew about it.    After several long months of dieting, people finally started noticing my weight loss and I remember the day it happened.  It was a Sunday and I wore a new dress in my new size (at the time)  to church and got a lot of people freaking out.  Thus the gastric bypass question. People would say to me it happened over night, but it didn't.  I wished!

Have you lost weight and no one notices?  Don't get discouraged, I know it is really frustrating.  Try wearing a smaller size that shows off you new curves.  That was the winning moment for me.

This is me and the hubby on my birthday in that very same dress.

This is what I put on my wieners...

I love sauerkraut (must be the German in me).  Did you know that this stuff is 0 weight watcher points +?  Have you forgotten about this stuff?  Do you want to jazz up your tasteless fat-free hotdog?  If the answer is yes, then this stuff is for you.  It really makes the hot dog more filling, like you have really had a meal.  You can buy this Steinfeld's brand at Walmart.

Say what? Are you sure?

Over at my Momma and Pappy's house they always have treats for the little people.  As soon as we get to their house, the little people head right for the treat drawer.  One of the things in that drawer are Rice Krispie Treats.  My mouth always drools watching them eat them.

Well the other day I had some coupons for some rice krispie treats and they were also on sale, so I was able to get an awesome deal on them.  The kids were so excited to have some at our house.  Every time I buy something, I figure out the weight watcher points and write the points directly on the package.  Even if I don't intend to eat it.  Just in case I accidentally drop something into my mouth (haha).  Well guess what?????

These are only 2 weight watcher points + for one bar.  I couldn't believe it.  My new favorite treat!  You should have seen my Pappy's face when I told him.  He couldn't believe it either.  Say what?  Are you sure?  Yes!!!  I am sure!

Butter, I love butter!

I love butter!  You know...  The real stuff... Not that margarine puke.  Butter is super fattening.  Really, really, REALLY fattening.  Now how best to use it?

You spray it!

Ok ok OK!  It is not butter, it is pretty much crap like margarine, but let me tell you.... It's a lot better than nothing and for 0 calories and 0 ww points + you can't go wrong.  I have tried several brands and I like the Parkay brand the best.  I spray my vegetables, my bread, my popcorn, my finger, and much more with this stuff and it is actually pretty good.  I was just kidding about the finger part.

Saying goodbye to butter is really hard, but when you think about the things you could eat instead of butter, it makes it a lot easier.  Spray butter rocks!
